The Design Process – What you can typically expect

This is important information about the interior design process and what you can expect when working with a designer.  Each project is unique so thing may vary slightly.  I want everyone to be happy during the process of all my jobs, that means your happy, I’m happy and so are all workrooms and subcontracts.

BEFORE AFTER FamRm

First Stage- Designing

Information Gathering– Measurements, photographs; we ask questions to find out what you want and don’t want. One House call lasting a few hours.

Design Work– We take the information back to our office and create the floor plans, research materials, order samples, and prepare a presentation. 2-3 weeks to prepare the presentation.

Presentation– We present our plan complete with scale drawing, swatches of materials, suggested products and TOGETHER come up with the best of the options we lay out. If the project requires renovations, we will identify subcontractors (unless you already have someone).         One House call time needed may take up to 3 hours.

Second Stage- Procurement

Pricing Quotes– From the selections made at the presentation, my team will price up the products to give accurate pricing in the form of a quote. From here we decide what you are ready to order. Can take about a week to compile prices.

Ordering Products– Furniture and accent pieces are ordered through Artistry Interiors since we have direct accounts with companies. Invoices are paid in full to place orders. When Artistry Interiors handles your orders, we write up the PO, track items and handle deliveries, which includes being on hand to ensure all is correct and for placement. Most orders are custom and will take 6-10 weeks for delivery.

Managing Work– We oversee construction work, if any, to see that it’s on schedule and assist with details, if needed. Contractors need the materials on hand before they start the job. Materials should be ordered 2-3 weeks before your contractor is to start.

Installation

Timeline- Each project will vary but the basic plan of when things are installed are in this general order:
Construction
Flooring
Painting
Furniture
Window Treatments
Accessories

Once a project is complete we may like to have it professionally photographed.

**Please remember I am the leader of this project. We work together but I take the lead. You are probably used to being in charge of your household, your kids, employees, or a whole company. It may not feel as comfortable to take a back seat position but trust me, this is necessary to ensure everyone is happy.**
