In real estate, the 3 most important features are location, location, location. With interior design, it’s very similar, only its floor plan, floor plan, floor plan! Without a proper floor plan, you will get lost along your way. It would be like trying to find a location you have never visited with no GPS or map to guide you. You will most certainly struggle and make some mistakes along the way without a guide.
When I do floor plans for my clients, I always give them at least 3 options, and I even show them the ones that wouldn’t work at all so that they have no doubt about which one is best. I usually have a favorite in mind, but I let the process unfold naturally so that everyone can voice an opinion and share in the process. Of course I give my opinion as well, but I like to hear what my clients think before I start to influence the process.
The floor plan is your road map; with it, you have the tools you need to get the room where you want it to be. In my interior design business, I get to watch as formerly anxious clients transform in front of my eyes into calm, relaxed and informed clients who have a clear vision to turn their dreams into reality. I feel fortunate to be able to provide that peace of mind and ease to my clients.
