Living with Animals

I love all animals!  I have had some exotic and unexpected pets in my life, including cats, a few chinchillas, guinea pigs, and my favorite pet of all time, a white duck named Howard (who started laying eggs and become known as Howardette).  I can’t imagine life without at least one pet, and I believe that my love of animals has helped me to be a better designer.

I recently had the honor of helping a very good client choose some high end area rugs.  As you can see from these photos, her cats approved of our choices.  They really added warmth and finished off the look we are going for.yannuzzi 013

Since I understand the challenges you can run into with owning pets, I find solutions for my clients and their whole families, pets included, so they love where they live for years to come.  There are great products out there to put a homeowner’s mind at ease.  When choosing rugs wool is natural stain repellent, so its my top choice.  I have also advise clients to stain protect even further with a wonderful treatment that is safe for the whole family, and will not only prevent stains but also protects from the sun.  This product can be applied to all fabrics, and rugs at any point, but its best to apply before things are even brought into your home for truly hassle free protection.Yannuzzi Del and Bath 002

I have been using a lot of vinyl for kitchen seating, which is not your grandmother’s vinyl anymore.  Today’s vinyls are extremely convincing in look and feel, come in so many colors and textures and are a huge cost savings compared to leather.  There are a lot of fashionable options, so you can live comfortably in your home and not have to sacrifice on style.yannuzzi 003
