Allow Your Furniture to Breath

Allow Your Furniture to Breathportfolio walsh glassdoors

In my design business, the most common design mistake that I see people make is pushing all their furniture up against the wall.  Placing furniture can be an art form, but one of the fundamental rules is to let your furniture breath! Don’t suffocate your room by pushing everything against the walls.port ponzak lr

Think in terms of negative space and creating a flow.  Even if you can pull your sofa away from the wall by 6”, it will make a big difference in look and feel of the room.  Don’t be afraid to float a chair or angle a sofa; it might not be what you have done in the past, but allow yourself to try something new.  I bet you’ll like the results.
