Reupholster can offer you a way to love your grandmothers chair all over again. It’s a dying art form, but their are still talented craftsman’s out there that can breathe new life into the old piece you once loved.
Something people don’t usually realize is the cost to reupholster, it is about the same price to buy a brand new piece. The labor of striping down a piece to build it back up again is time consuming, and then you have to purchase fabric as well. However I feel it’s completely worth the cost for family heirlooms, fine furniture, and piece that are currently hard to find because of current trends. For example the 40” deep sofa is the new “standard” but if you’re not that tall, you won’t be comfortable on a sofa that deep. You might prefer a 36″ deep sofa which is very hard to find in today’s furniture stores. Which might mean reupholster could be the right answer for you.
