Making Your Walls Pop with Wallpaper!
You may be surprised to hear that wallpaper has made a big come back! The patterns, texture and colors that are offered now are so inspiring that even commit phoebes are saying “Yes let’s go for it”. Wallpaper can total transform a space even when you choose to only do one feature wall.
I have a few spaces that I recommend using wallpaper in, for just about any house, and they are bathrooms, hallways and foyers. I love using wallpaper in bathrooms because it gives big style to a small bath and sets a sophisticated tone. Similarly foyers and hallways are smaller spaces that can be bland without any pattern so wallpaper offers a fabulous solution.
An added bonus to the design effect that wallpaper offers is that it protects your walls much better than paint will. My design rule of thumb with regard to wallpaper is to avoid using a strong pattern in living spaces. Since wallpaper is a commit you don’t want to run the risk of getting sick of it. For this reason when designing Living Rooms, Kitchens, Offices, or other place that my clients spend a lot of time I choice soft and subtle tone on tone patterns or textures when wallpaper is appropriate.
When choosing your wallpapers my best advice is to seek an expert’s trained eye and have everything professional hung. If you need assistance I invite you to contact me for such expert advice.
