Designer Tips for Collectors

Designer Tip for Collectorsclocks

Are you a collector, or do you live with one?  It can be a challenge for some to organize their pieces and create a collection instead of a bunch of clutter.  Collections come in all shapes and sizes, but just about any of them look best when well-organized.

People collect all kinds of things, from old clocks and Salt and Pepper Shakers to sports memorabilia.  The collector usually loves these items for reasons he can’t really articulate; he’s are just drawn to them and must have them.

Grouping these treasures together shows off your collection and helps you display it properly. If you intentionally organize your collection, the resulting exhibit will look like a showpiece.  There are many ways to group items, and one example is a decorative tray with a grouping of antique snuff books on a coffee table. This look is eye-catching, and it’s a wonderful way to display a collection.

There are also end tables that can display smaller objects like this one from Theodore Alexander.

If your collection is a bit large you may have to rotate your favorites for display.  I hope this has given you some helpful and inspiring tip for ways to display your collections.  Happy Collecting!
