Color Trends of 2013 and 2014

Color Trends of 2013 and 2014green walls

As we finish up 2013 I would like to pay homage to Pantone’s Color of the year, Emerald.  I am peculiarly bios toward emerald as it happens to be my birthstone and I look fabulous in it!

Emerald is striking in its rich, deep color, and is considered one of the jewel tones.  If you ever question what a jewel tone is, just think of the precious stones that you would find in traditional Kings Crown (ruby red, sapphire blue, and emerald green).

2014 is quickly approaching us and the color report is in, for Spring 2014 the Pantone color is Dazzling Blue!  I have already noticed major magazines featuring the trend of this traditional blue.dazzel blue

Keep in mind that trends move quicker through the world of fashion.  There is a slight lag behind in interiors design with major color trend shifting in small ways.  Accent piece can be introduced like vases, pillows, other small occasional pieces of furniture.blue

My design advice is always to follow what you love.  You don’t need to be trendy unless you find the new hot color calling out you.  Then you can add it to what you already have in small ways, or if it is time a whole redesign with your new inspiration.  I am always here for you if need help.  I invite you to contact me with your design needs.
