Is your Dining Room ready for Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving can be a hectic day of cooking, setting the table and entertaining your guests. It can be a challenge to juggle everything while remembering the reason for the holiday to begin with.
On Thanksgiving, I feel grateful that I have a large dining room table with an extra leaf for all of my guests. There have been a few Thanksgivings where even my extended table needed an extra, small table saddled up against it for the additional people joining us. On these special occasions, it’s more about the people and the good food than having every chair match. It would be great if every dining room could seat 15 to 20 people for that once or twice a year event, but that’s not the case in most homes.
I find that as long as you have a tablecloth that’s large enough to cover all the tables, and the table is set beautifully, no one notices what’s underneath it. As a designer, I make as much, if not more, fuss over my table settings than I do over the food. I take great pride in all of my little table decorations, like the squirrel place card holders and pilgrim candle stick holders. The colors of fall are so magnificent and complement one another when all displayed together.
I hope that your Thanksgiving is full of gratitude for all the blessing you have.
