As a designer I keep up with the trends, and there has been a big move toward using an ottoman as a coffee table in the past few years. I think it speaks to our more causal laid back life styles. Gone are the days when it would be rude to put your feet up in front of company or heavens forbid they would.
Using an ottoman for a coffee table is a great design option for your family room. The look is warm and inviting, weather the ottoman is skirted or has wood legs. It also allows the use of fun fabrics or leathers to add pizzazz to your room, which you can further enhance by adding nail head trim.
The ottoman as your coffee table makes lounging welcome, and nothing is more comfortable than being able to stretch out and put your feet up. There is no need to worry about sacrificing the function of a coffee table either since placing a tray or having a tray built in to your ottoman are easy and available options.
An ottoman coffee table is the latest must have item; it is an attractive trend that will be around for a long time to come.

15 Sep 2015Sometimes you need to just venture out a little to find out what is the latest trend that you could follow in order to give a breath of fresh air to your home. I have always fancied antiques as I think their timeless designs never fail to amaze my guests with their stunning outlook. However, I guess it is no harm trying a different approach and add an ottoman as a table instead of a plain old storage stool.
