Getting Spooky with Halloween Décor
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. The traditions of today are all about having fun and eating candy; what’s not to love about that?! In the past, I’ve thrown a few costume-necessary Halloween parties for friends. Every year, my guests would initially moan about having to find a costume, but once they’d arrive they would admit how much fun they had either making their Halloween costumes or shopping for them.
Since I made my guests dress up, I felt it was my duty to also go all out with the Halloween decorations and spooky-themed foods. The best house-transforming items you can buy are the fake cob webs. I love how just one bag of that stuff can cover and transform your whole house.
The next important layer is spooky mood lighting. I recommend changing some normal light bulbs to the orange ones and leaving some lights off for drama. Another one of my favorites is adding mouse silhouettes here and there to creep out the unexpecting person just walking down the hall.
Over the years of throwing these Halloween parties, I’ve collected more and more, to the point that space in the attic for Halloween rivals that of my Christmas décor. Happy Halloween!
