On Saturday October 6, 2012 the Morris Habitat for Humanity ReStore held its 2nd Annual “Go Green, Save Green.” This one stop place for savings, recycling, and reuse attracted over 1,300 people. Heather McManus of Artistry Interiors was there to inspire with Upcycle transformations and ideas of recycled furniture and frames at the recent event.
On top of the great saving, shoppers also enjoyed free hot dogs, music provided by DJ Pudge and workshops conducted by many vendors. Artistry Interiors held a workshop on the art of refinishing. Special thanks goes to all the other venders like College Hunks, Sterling Horticultural, Handyman Matters, Solar Energy World, for making the event a success.
It was a great day with a whirlwind of activity…Community Blood Services collected 18 blood donations. Coming Home Dog Rescue initiated 6 adoptions. Two bins of clothing donations were filled for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Green Vision collected a truck full of electronics for recycling. We also collected cell phones for Morris Habitat Youth United, and ink cartridges for Costco. Several artists who use recycled materials for jewelry and artifacts set up tables to sell their wares.
Artistry Interiors was proud to be a part of this event to help support the Habitat for Humanity Restore earn the money it need to keep build homes for the community.
